Summer 2027: Where The Kit Comes From

Summer 2027: Where The Kit Comes From

Every piece on the Triads rail right now was decided six months ago. We're looking at next summer while you're browsing spring stock. That's how buying works.

This summer, I made it out to meet three of our core friends: Polo Ralph Lauren, Edwin, and Carhartt WIP. There were others we handled on B2B platforms instead—some brands you can work with remotely now, and honestly, when you're running the whole operation solo, that saves time you need to stay in the store.

The Reality

I'm one person doing the buying, the Shopify management, the fulfilment, the socials, the customer emails. I can't spend weeks away on buying trips. So most of the year, it's remote—spreadsheets, samples sent to Yarm, conversations with the people we know.

But some relationships need a handshake. Some conversations are better done in person. That's where the visits matter.

What You're Not Seeing (Yet)

You might be wondering why we haven't posted samples or colourway previews from the new seasons. There's a reason for that.

Buying is collaborative. We see a collection, we select pieces, but the final edit isn't fixed until everything's been fit-tested, reviewed, and locked down. A piece might get pulled. A colourway might shift. An order might adjust based on what actually works. Some things go back because they're not quite right.

Publishing samples six months out means showing you something that might not make it to the rail. That's not useful to anyone.

So the recap is just that—a recap. A look at who we saw and where your stuff is coming from. The actual new stock will speak for itself when it arrives.

Polo, Edwin, Carhartt

These three represent different approaches to menswear, and that's why they're all here.

Polo Ralph Lauren is heritage. It's established craft and consistency. We know what we're getting.

Edwin is Japanese denim done right. Clean, thoughtful, built to age well.

Carhartt WIP is work-wear with integrity. No irony, no trend. Just honest utility that's been proven.

Meeting the people behind these brands, even briefly, reminds you why they're in the edit. These aren't algorithms. These are people making considered choices.

Next Summer

There's more to come. We've got more appointments lined up for next year—brands we want to see in person, conversations that need to happen face-to-face. The calendar's already filling.

For now, the kit's in production. The colourways are locked. The sizes are being cut. And in six months, it arrives.

That's the honest version of how retail works. Not glamorous. Not Instagram-friendly. Just real.
